Instant messaging application Snapchat and dating website Bumble were down for thousands on Thursday. Several users saw a C14A error on the former. They posted about problems with sending messages, logging in, and overall app performance. The exact cause of the outage remains unclear and the companies have not issued a statement yet.
How To Solve C14A Error On Snapchat?
The C14A error on Snapchat typically occurs when you try to log in or use the app and encounter a message like, “Something went wrong. Please try again later. Support code: C14A.”
1. Check Snapchat Server Status
If Snapchat’s servers are down, you won’t be able to log in, and the C14A error may appear.
2. Restart the Snapchat App
On Android/iPhone: Swipe the app away from your recent apps list to close it fully, then reopen it. Log in again to check if the error persists.
3. Restart Your Device
Android: Hold the power button, select “Restart,” or power off and on again.
iPhone: Press Volume Up + Side (or Volume Down + Side), swipe to power off, then hold the Side button to turn it back on.
– Launch Snapchat afterward and try logging in.
4. Check and Switch Your Internet Connection
If on Wi-Fi, switch to mobile data (or vice versa).
– Disconnect and reconnect to your network.
– Disable any VPN you’re using, as it might interfere with Snapchat’s servers.
5. Update Snapchat
Open the Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iPhone).
– Search for Snapchat and tap “Update” if available. If it says “Open,” your app is already up to date.
– Relaunch Snapchat and log in.
6. Clear Snapchat’s Cache
Android: Go to Settings > Apps > Snapchat > Storage > Clear Cache. (Note: This doesn’t delete your account data.)
iPhone: Snapchat doesn’t offer a direct cache-clear option outside the app when you can’t log in, so you’ll need to offload/reinstall (see step 7).
