PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Winter weather continues around Portland as temperatures remain cold and snow elevations remain low this weekend.
A mix of sun and clouds will be a welcome sight across western Oregon and southwest Washington on Friday. The morning will start out frosty, but afternoon highs will rebound into the low to mid-40s. Friday’s cooler temperatures put the Rose City nearly 10 degrees cooler than average for the start of February. Average daytime high should be in the low 50s this time of year.
Those celebrating the first night of the Portland Winter Light Festival should expect cold, but dry temperatures.
Winter weather potential returns again this weekend. A KOIN 6 Weather Alert is in place for elevations above 1,000 feet on Saturday morning where a dusting or up to 2″ of wet snow accumulation is possible. No impacts to roadways are expected with the latest round of winter weather in much of the Portland and Vancouver metro areas. Many folks will wake up to no snow and wet and cold conditions instead.
