- IU has won four of its last five games, and many bracketologists see the Hoosiers in March Madness, for now.
- The Ducks can one-up the Hoosiers with five consecutive wins.
- Here’s how you can watch, stream or listen to Tuesday night’s game.
Indiana basketball completes its regular season with a visit from Ohio State on Saturday, March 8, 2025.
Both teams are on the March Madness bubble and don’t want to rely on a long Big Ten Tournament run to clinch an NCAA Tournament berth. The winner of this game gets the No. 9 seed in the Big Ten Tournament, and a one-day bye that comes with it. The loser is the No. 10 seed and must play on Wednesday, the first day of the Big Ten Tournament.
The Hoosiers (17-12, 9-10 Big Ten) are coming off a loss to host Oregon, which ended a three-game winning streak that placed them tentatively in 68-team NCAA field, according to many bracketologists. IU has played well the past four weeks after a five-game losing streak. Malik Reneau (13.0 points, 5.6 rebounds), Myles Rice (10.7 points) and Kanaan Carlyle (4.4 points) have become reliable bench players behind the starting lineup (below).
The Buckeyes (17-13, 9-10) have an even looser hold on an NCAA Tournament berth and are coming off a double-overtime win over Nebraska. OSU has struggled defensively lately, allowing opponents to shoot 55.2% from the field over the past 2 1/2 games.
Indiana beat Ohio State 77-76 in overtime on Jan. 17. The Hoosiers led by 10 points with 5 minutes left in regulation, but John Mobley Jr.’s last-minute 3-pointer extended the game. Luke Goode’s 3-pointer with 1:07 left in overtime pushed IU to victory as Bruce Thornton’s open jumper at the buzzer rimmed out.

Indiana basketball vs Ohio State basketball expert prediction, picks
Zach Osterman, IndyStar: Indiana 68-65
It all, cliches allowed, comes down to this. A win Saturday probably puts Indiana into the NCAA Tournament, no matter what happens next week in Indianapolis. A loss means the Hoosiers need a good week at the Big Ten tourney. These teams are remarkably evenly matched, as evidenced by IU’s one-point overtime win in Columbus in January. This shapes up as a potential bubble elimination game (conference tournament week pending) for the loser. Everybody’s back is against the wall Saturday. Indiana wins a nail biter.
