Nintendo’s annual celebration of all things Mario falls every year on March 10 (MAR10… Mario… get it?), and it always means deep discounts on Mario video games for Nintendo Switch, as well as other Mario merch.

Walmart has one of the best deals on some of the plumber’s most popular video games in 2025, including up to 34% off Nintendo Switch titles like Super Mario: Odyssey and more.

Odyssey is a captivating action-adventure platformer, and the only original “main line” Mario game developed for the Nintendo Switch. It regularly retails for its full price of $60, at which it was released in 2017. Nintendo is notoriously stingy when it comes to discounting its best-selling products, so finding new copies of Odyssey on sale at all is a relative rarity, despite the game’s age.
Walmart has several other popular Nintendo Switch Mario titles on sale on Monday as well, including:
- Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD – $39.88 (was $59.99)
- Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury – $39.88 (was $59.99)
- Super Mario RPG – $39.88 (was $59.99)
- Mario Vs. Donkey Kong – $29.83 (was $49.99)
And if you’re wondering if it’s worth buying games for Nintendo Switch with the Nintendo Switch 2 right around the corner, don’t worry. The new system is set to be backwards compatible with current Nintendo Switch titles, so you can keep on playing your old games when you upgrade to the new console.
Walmart also has a great bundle in stock where shoppers can get a brand new Nintendo Switch OLED Model (that’s the new and improved one) with Super Mario Bros Wonder ($59.99) for just $349.99. That’s essentially getting the full Mario Wonder game for free.
Walmart is joined by Target and Best Buy in offering similar discounts for Mar10 day. Other retailers like LEGO and Amazon have slashed prices on Mario toys, stuffed animals, clothes and more during the special event.
Nintendo also announced the My Nintendo Universal sweepstakes, with a chance to visit the new Super Nintendo World at Universal Orlando. The sweepstakes is open until June 30, and requires a Nintendo account to enter. The winner gets a trip for four to Universal Orlando Resort.
