TORONTO, ON — The men who make up the local band Yam Haus waited to get on a plane Monday in Toronto. The plane they were waiting to get on was delayed once, then twice, and then just canceled.
It was canceled because the plane they were waiting to board to come home to Minneapolis had just crashed.
A CRJ-900 plane from Minneapolis crashed while landing Monday afternoon at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Miraculously, all 76 passengers and four crewmembers survived, despite the plane flipping and coming to a rest upside down. Twenty-one people were hurt.
“Something to take from this that can be positive is snapping out of that, like right in front of you comfort, and you know, I’m annoyed I missed my flight, to snapping out of that and just being like, life is beautiful, short, painful, and trying to soak in whatever we get because we were one plane of separation away from being a part of that situation and it’s just bizarre,” Lars Pruitt told KARE 11’s Jana Shortal.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
