Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner’s reaction to him missing out on an Oscar was caught on camera.

Chalamet was nominated for Best Actor at the 97th Academy Awards for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown but lost to Adrien Brody for The Brutalist. Other nominees in the category included: Colman Domingo (Sing Sing), Ralph Fiennes (Conclave) and Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice).

At the Oscars ceremony on Sunday, Chalamet and Jenner—who have been linked since April 2023—shared a kiss after Brody’s name was announced. In a video posted to E! News‘ X, formerly Twitter, account, the actor could be seen clapping before turning to the Kylie Cosmetics founder for her support.

At the time of publication, the clip racked up more than 126,000 views.

Newsweek reached out to Chalamet and Jenner’s representatives via email for comment.

Chalamet wore a custom yellow Givenchy suit to the awards show and walked the red carpet alone, but Jenner joined him inside Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre. In a separate video posted by Jada Yuan, national culture writer at The Washington Post, the pair snapped “a selfie with an LA firefighter / helicopter pilot” at the event. Later, they were spotted posing for photos at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

During the ceremony, Oscars host Conan O’Brien poked fun at the Dune star’s outfit color choice. “You look amazing, I bow to you. Love that suit. You will not get hit on your bike tonight,” he teased. “Safe!”

Chalamet, 29, was previously nominated for Best Actor in 2018 for playing the part of Elio in Call Me By Your Name, making him the youngest two-time Best Actor nominee since James Dean.

At the Screen Actors Guild Awards on February 23, the Wonka star won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for A Complete Unknown and was named the youngest winner of the award.

“That’s amazing. I’m so f***ing grateful, man. I’m so grateful,” Chalamet said in an interview with Extra upon learning the historic news. “I was not expecting this. I would’ve had a more tailored message. This is just raw.”

In his SAG acceptance speech, the New York native said he wanted “to be one of the greats” and listed Daniel Day-Lewis, Marlon Brando, Viola Davis, Michael Jordan and more as his inspiration.

“I know the classiest thing would be to downplay the effort that went into this role and how much this means to me, but the truth is, this was five and a half years of my life,” he said. “I poured everything I had into playing this incomparable artist Mr. Bob Dylan, a true American hero. It was the honor of a lifetime playing him.”
