I still can’t believe it – over twenty years in the making, John Cena finally turned heel….and it was fucking phenomenal.
I know it hasn’t even been 24 hours yet, but I feel comfortable calling that one of the greatest, most shocking twists in the history of professional wrestling. Hulk Hogan joining the nWo and Steve Austin aligning himself with Vince McMahon are the only turns I think could even be comparable, but I wasn’t watching either one live so it’s hard for me to truly say. The Undertaker’s Streak ending is the only thing I’ve personally seen inside the squared circle that was more surprising than this – and I’ve watched a lot of wrestling in my life, so that says a lot. Oh, and Travis Scott was also there for some reason. And he smacked the everliving SHIT outta Cody Rhodes….
….but I’m not here to break down the full segment and heel turn. Not just yet. I’m gonna have Carrabis in the Basement ASAP for that discussion.
Right now I’m just basking in the memes, which have taken over my ‘For You’ page entirely on Twitter, and they’re all phenomenal. Just banger after banger on my timeline cracking me up. Here’s a bunch I’ve screenshotted to hopefully prevent the embeds from crashing the page….

Oh, and R-Truth really made me laugh with this one….
These are the moments Twitter was created for. Just so so so good.
I’ll get Carrabis in the Basement soon, when he can sneak away from Spring Training in Arizona, but for now – check out the below video for my instant reaction/thoughts on the turn….
