WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Officers from seven Bucks County police departments, along with the Pennsylvania State Police, will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend to ensure the safety of drivers and prevent impaired driving.

The checkpoint, operated by the Bucks County DUI Task Force and led by Warrington Township Police Lt. Glen Gottenberg and Bensalem Township Sgt. Daniel Errigo, will be in operation from 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, until 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 16, along Route 611 in Warrington.

Police will be stopping vehicles traveling in both directions, observing drivers for signs of intoxication, and enforcing laws related to impaired driving. This initiative is part of a broader effort to reduce accidents, injuries, and fatalities caused by impaired driving, particularly during the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Local law enforcement agencies encourage anyone who plans to celebrate this weekend to do so responsibly. Officers are reminding the public to never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and to use alternative transportation options such as ride share services or designated drivers if necessary.

“We want everyone to enjoy their St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, but it’s critical that people make responsible choices when it comes to driving,” said Warrington Township Police Chief Daniel J. Friel. “This checkpoint is part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our roadways safe for all drivers and passengers.”

The public is encouraged to report suspected impaired drivers to law enforcement by calling 911. Officers urge everyone to take personal responsibility for their actions on the road and ensure they arrive home safely.
