The Chiefs traded Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears on Wednesday, saving plenty of money toward 2025. The immediate thought is this move likely goes hand in hand with Trey Smith’s franchise tag. That is likely the case, but Kansas City could have some roster flexibility with possible restructures. A trio of Metcalf, Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy would be tough to stop. Travis Kelce’s future is up in the air after 2025, and if he does retire, his salary coming off the books could open a path toward a long-term stay for Metcalf.
