Pittsburgh Steelers miss out on another top-flight wide receiver option

Free agent wide receiver Davante Adams is getting his wish. He is heading back to the West Coast and playing for the Los Angeles Rams, according to multiple reports. Adams is signing a two-year, $46 million deal with $25 million of that guaranteed.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will miss out on another top-flight wide receiver, though that is not too surprising since they have yet to sign a quarterback. Until they do that, it will be tough for the team to sign a top wide receiver.

When Adams requested a trade out of Las Vegas, the Steelers were heavily involved in the trade rumors. They tried to land him, but the Jets ponied up the draft capital needed for their pursuit.

Adams is 32 years old, but is still playing at a high level. He had 1063 receiving yards between the two teams and can still put up monster numbers despite the struggles around him.

The Steelers could still land a top wide receiver, with players like Chris Godwin and DK Metcalf available for trade. However, that will all be up to the Steelers to make that move happen, and a quarterback must come first.
