Obi Toppin replicated Tyrese Haliburton‘s game-winning heroics Monday night.
Toppin hit a 3-pointer deep in the left corner while he leaned left with 3 seconds left, lifting the shorthanded Indiana Pacers over the Minnesota Timberwolves 132-130 in overtime. Minnesota hadn’t lost in March, coming in with an eight-game winning streak.
Toppin scored 34 points on a career-high 7 3-pointers with 10 rebounds, capping his night with the thrilling shot.
No regular Pacers starters were available in overtime due to injury or ejections, and Bennedict Mathurin had fouled out. T.J. McConnell extended the game with a basket with 4 seconds remaining in regulation.
