NEWPORT, Ky. (WKRC) – Newport Aquarium goes with an iguana on Groundhog Day to predict a longer winter or an early spring.

Persephone, the Prognosticating Rhinoceros Iguana at Newport Aquarium, has made her annual Groundhog Day prediction. Sunday morning, Persephone chose to eat her morning salad from the “6 More Weeks of Winter” bowl.

The aquarium shared video and still images of Persephone making her anticipated prediction.

Punxsutawney Phil also made his prediction, six more weeks of winter. The famous groundhog saw his shadow Sunday morning, his handlers announced to a large crowd gathered for the occasion at Gobbler’s Knob in Pennsylvania.
