Myles Garrett releases statement after inking mega-deal with Browns

In a sweeping 180-degree change of direction similar tp his bend on the field as he attacks opposing quarterbacks, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett has ended his bid for a trade and instead inked a new mega-deal with the team.

Garrett is now locked under contract with the Browns until 2030 despite pleads to play for a competitor after a 3-14 season in Cleveland a year ago. After making Garrett the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL, his agent Nicole Lynn of Klutch Sports has released a statement on his behalf:

“Andrew Berry and I spent the last 36 hours getting the deal done, basically… Myles had a change of heart and he’s excited to go from Cleveland to Canton and chase a championship in Ohio. When he made that decision, he said ‘I want to get this done before free agency so I can start recruiting free agents, so I can help the team.’ And I said ‘alright, we have 24 hours to get this done’ and we did it.”

However, Garrett will have some mending to do with his teammates in the locker room after he took to radio row during the week of the Super Bowl to continue his demand for a change of scenery. However, the Browns have averted a crisis of one of the NFL’s best players walking out the door.
