Listen, no one likes the Lakers at this company more than me. I’d drink LeHennessy for breakfast every morning if I could. I watch every game without tweeting 97 times like Greenie. And besides the Lakers giving the Celtics their worst loss of the season on Rivals Week and fully exerting their dominance much like a Michigan/Ohio State situation regardless of who raises the banner, this season has been an absolute dumpster fire so far. I can’t log on the Internet without seeing 9 different articles about potential trades ahead of the deadline, and every morning I wake up disappointed to see it hasn’t happened yet.
Yesterday was no exception, but this time JJ Redick decided to give Bronny 15 minutes of play in what was largely a 76ers ass kicking from the 2nd quarter on. These weren’t blowout minutes, but up a bunch in the first quarter when JJ deployed his secret weapon. Bronny has been playing well in the G League against farmers, Nicky Smokes, and StoolSalesGuy, so let’s just inject him into the mix during a nationally televised game when the team is playing some great basketball as of late. Of course, it ended up as a poor decision and while he wasn’t the only reason they lost, having a guy go out there for 15 minutes of cardio and playing defense like he’s Loud Sean can’t help. I agree with Stephen A on very few things, but this is one:
Except where he said he was a top 2 or 3 basketball player of time, because he’s #1, but that’s besides the point here. No one is rooting for Bronny more than me, but can we stop trying to force him into the league without at least letting him develop this year while we’re somewhat of contenders if we make a trade? It’s just flat out embarrassing man. I mean look at this highlight tape:
P.S. Mad Dog just sitting there while Stephen A goes off on LeBron with a disgusted look on his face was high comedy. A reason to smile I guess.
