The season’s most awaited show, CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live, and its co-hosts Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen are here. The duo were again back together for their eighth consecutive year as they hosted the show on December 31, 2024.
Cohen and Cooper are not only co-hosts on the annual live telecast but are also longtime friends. Per People Magazine, their friendship dates back to the early 90s.
As for his personal life, Anderson Cooper found love in businessman Benjamin Maisani whom he met in 2009, per People Magazine. They reportedly made their relationship official in 2015. However, the two broke up in March 2018. The news of their split was confirmed by the anchor. The duo remain friends and co-parent their kids.

As per a report in People magazine Anderson Cooper and Benjamin Maisani met in 2009. However, there are no reports as to how the two met each other. They confirmed their relationship in 2015 as they walked the red carpet at the 26th annual GLAAD Awards. In March 2018, they broke up as Cooper announced the news.
Reports indicated that Benjamin Maisani is a businessman. He was born on January 27, 1973 in Corsica, France. He is reportedly staying in New York City. After pursuing his education at Hunter College in New York he started working as a librarian at the Morgan Library. Later, he worked as a Bartender. Soon, he ventured into the world of business as he launched his bar in New York called Eastern Bloc.
Cooper and Benjamin are co-parents to their two kids. Cooper welcomed his son Wyatt Morgan through surrogacy in April 2020 and their second son Sebastian Luke in 2022.
Speaking about his relationship with his former partner Benjamin Maisani, Anderson Cooper told People Magazine that he and Maisani are still family although they separated a long time ago. He said,
“Benjamin and I separated as boyfriends some time ago. We are still family to each other, and love each other very much.”
The 57-year-old said. He further added,
“we remain the best of friends, and will continue to share much of our lives together.”
Cooper also spoke about his friendship with Andy Cohen in an interview with Parade. He mentioned that his favorite part of the evening is “just getting to hang” with his best friend.
“It’s such an unusual experience. It’s five hours of standing in Times Square in the elements, just shooting the sh– and having fun,” he added. “It’s a very unique broadcast, and it’s really fun, and you’re actually counting down to something. You’re waiting for something to happen, and then something does happen, so it’s great!”
CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live show was a star-studded event as it featured a lineup of celebrities including 50 Cent, Meghan Trainor, Shania Twain, Michael Ian Black, and Mickey Guyton among others.
