India got off to a terrible start as they were reduced to 30 for 3 in 6.4 overs. This is when Iyer (79) and Axar Patel (42) stitched a crucial 98-run stand between them to help India make a remarkable comeback. However, the Blackcaps regained control with the wicket of Axar and never looked back after that. Hardik Pandya scored a fighting 45 towards the end but even that could not take India to 250.
