This marked the second Golden Globes ceremony since its longtime backer, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, was replaced following the acquisition of all the HFPA’s assets, rights and properties by Dick Clark Productions and Eldridge. Instead of the HFPA, a racially and ethnically diverse group of voters — made up of journalists representing countries from around the world — selects the nominees and winners. (Dick Clark Productions now owns and produces the Golden Globe Awards. DCP is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge that also owns The Hollywood Reporter.)
The 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards aired live from the Beverly Hilton on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. Emmy-winning producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner were showrunners for a second consecutive year.
