Just in time for everyone to bail on their New Year’s resolutions to eat healthier, the Girl Scouts of the USA kicked off their 2025 cookie season.
The lineup is full of everyone’s favorite flavors, including Thin Mints, Samoas/Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs and more. But S’mores and Toast-Yay! won’t be making a return after the 2025 season ends as the Girl Scouts announced Jan. 7 they’ll be retiring the two snacks.
Introduced in 2017, the S’mores cookie with its crunchy graham sandwich and chocolate and marshmallow filling was already hard to find in South Carolina. Sales in the last few years were relegated to Northern states.
The Toast-Yay!, shaped like toast with a French toast flavor, were introduced in 2021.
The Girl Scouts’ cookie program kicked off Jan. 7, and online shopping is a big option. As always, buyers can reach out to registered Girl Scouts for cookies or use the Girl Scout Cookie Finder to learn where local councils have set up booths.
Starting Feb. 21, customers can also purchase cookies online to be shipped directly to their homes. Buyers will be matched with Girl Scouts in their ZIP codes. You can also text COOKIES to 59618 for local sales information.
The annual sales program is one of the largest entrepreneurial programs in the world, offering life skills to Girl Scouts as they earn business, literacy and other badges.
“Girl Scout Cookie season is about so much more than selling the iconic cookies people know and love,” said GSUSA Chief Revenue Officer Wendy Lou. “The funds girls earn throughout the season directly power girls’ journeys in leadership, entrepreneurship and community building. The sweet success of each sale is a testament to how much girls can change the world when they put their minds to it.”
