“Ghost Adventures” star Aaron Goodwin’s wife, Victoria, has been arrested in Nevada on charges of conspiring to murder her husband.
According to TMZ, who first reported the news, police discovered the plot after seizing a phone from an inmate imprisoned in Florida. The phone’s contents included texts with Victoria in which she openly discussed — and set aside money for — hiring a hitman to kill her husband.
In one of the texts, Goodwin asked, “Am I a bad person? Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce.”
While her husband was filming new episodes of “Ghost Adventures” in California, Goodwin gave information about his location and shooting times. According to police, she also put away $11,515 to pay a hitman. The Florida inmate she was communicating with reportedly messaged said hitman on her behalf.
Goodwin’s plot was meant to be carried out in October 2024. It is unclear what ultimately happened. Goodwin’s husband, Aaron, is still very much alive – in a statement to TMZ, he confessed that he was “blindsided and devastated” to learn about his wife’s plan, as he believed his marriage with Victoria was a “happy” one.
The two officially married in August 2022 at the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland. On Instagram, Aaron shared photos of their wedding three years ago, writing at the time, “It finally happened we got married. After postponing many times due to COVID we got our day. I couldn’t be happier.”
Goodwin’s “Ghost Adventures” co-host Zak Bagans told TMZ that it is an “emotional time” for Aaron and that he is simply trying to give him “love and support” right now.
Victoria, who was arrested in Nevada on March 6 on charges of soliciting to commit murder and conspiring to commit murder, has denied wanting her husband killed and allegedly told police that she was just fantasizing about living without her husband. The 32-year-old claims to have no memory of corresponding with the Florida inmate whose phone was seized, despite she and Aaron apparently experiencing marital problems last year, according to her.
Regarding her messages about paying a hitman, Victoria asserts that she thought said money was for cell phones. She is currently in police custody. A $100,000 cash bail has been set and she is set to make her initial court appearance on Tuesday.
Warner Bros. Discovery and Travel Channel, which produce and distribute “Ghost Adventures,” have not yet responded to TheWrap’s request for comment.
