Fire breaks out at Disney’s Epcot theme park, prompting evacuation

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A fire appeared to break out at Disney’s Epcot theme park on Saturday after videos online went viral showing smoke billowing over the France Pavilion.

A Walt Disney World spokesperson told News 6 that the fire started from a walk-in cooler in the backstage area of the France Pavilion.

Per the spokesperson, the incident caused the “Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure” ride to be evacuated, though the fire was quickly extinguished with no reported injuries.

One of the videos shared with News 6 by X user @ryanwmsn shows the perspective of the smoke from one of the theme park’s Skyliner gondolas.

Meanwhile, another user (@f_chacha) shared a vantage point showing the smoke from near the Canada section of the park.

No additional information has been provided at this time, including how or when the fire started.
