No. 5 Tennessee basketball defeated No. 6 Alabama 79-76 on Saturday afternoon when Jahmai Mashack made a 30-foot three-point shot at the buzzer. Mashack’s thrilling buzzer-beater completed a 7-0 run for UT to pull off a come-from-behind victory in which the veteran guard made the final five points.

Mashack finished with 11 points, six rebounds, three steals, two blocks and two assists in the significant win for the Vols with seeding ramifications for the NCAA Tournament on the line. Senior guards Chaz Lanier and Jordan Gainey each scored 18 points apiece to lead the Vols in scoring, while point guard Zakai Zeigler added 15 points and four assists to overcome a 24-point effort from Alabama star Mark Sears.
