It’s Pokémon Day 2025, and that means a new Pokémon Presents, which was full of reveals and updates on all things Pokémon — including our first real look at Pokémon Legends: Z-A, a new Pokémon multiplayer game, and more.
As usual, there were lots of smaller announcements and updates to The Pokémon Company’s live-service games like Pokémon TCG Pocket, Pokémon Unite, and Pokémon Sleep, alongside news about other adaptations of the franchise.
Don’t worry if you missed the broadcast — there’s still time to celebrate. Here’s everything announced during The Pokémon Company 2025’s Pokémon Presents.
The Pokémon Company announced a new title focused on Pokémon battles inspired by the core series games. Pokémon Champions will let trainers from around the world pit their Pokémon skills against each other across mobile devices and Nintendo Switch. It even connects with Pokémon Home, letting players bring over Pokémon from other games. Game Freak is overseeing the development of Pokémon Champions, which is being handled by The Pokémon Works.
We finally got a look at gameplay and a release window for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the upcoming Switch game set in the Kalos region’s Lumiose City. Players will select from starters Totodile, Chikorita, and Tepig, and explore a city undergoing a high-tech urban redevelopment that caters to both humans and Pokémon. Pokémon Legends: Z-A will include Mega Evolutions, and is slated for release on Nintendo Switch in “late 2025.”
Pokémon TCG Pocket’s fourth expansion, Triumphant Light, drops on Feb. 28. Players can expect Arceus ex as a powerful card — and part of an expansion that includes additional Pokémon ex cards, new trainer cards, and the unveiling of Pokémon with unique Link Abilities.
The Pokémon MOBA is expanding its roster in 2025 with the addition of Suicine on March 1. Following that, Pokémon Unite players can expect Alolan Raichu in April and Alcremie sometime after that. Delicious!
Pokémon Masters EX is about to celebrate its 5.5-year anniversary, and as you know, the traditional gift for that milestone is with Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre. Two new Master Sync Pairs will be making an appearance during the event: May (Champion) and Kyogre, and Brendan (Champion) and Groudon.
Pokémon Sleep, the gaming about sleeping and catching sleepy Pokémon, will feature a Cresselia vs. Darkrai event in March. Zzzzz… (complimentary)
The Netflix animated series Pokémon Concierge is coming back this September with new episodes and new Pokémon. Same old overworked Haru, though.
A new apple-themed menu is coming to puzzle game Pokémon Cafe Remix, which obliges me to ask, “How do you like them apples?” Hopefully in the form of an Appletun Fruitilicious Jelly Soda! Anyway, Flapple and Appletun are coming to Café Remix, as are Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly in adorable new outfits.
