‘Doesn’t make sense’… Joe Rogan reacts as Sean Brady submits Leon Edwards in UFC London main event

Sean Brady picked up the biggest win of his career thus far on Saturday when he handed Leon Edwards his first stoppage loss of his UFC tenure.

Ahead of the UFC London main event on Saturday, Sean Brady and Leon Edwards both looked to return to title contention and earn a rematch against current champion, Belal Muhammad.

Just a few days before their fight, fans began surfacing their concern that the former champion may have staph infection after an image surfaced online, but Edwards shut down those rumors.

With this being the Brit’s first fight since disappointingly losing his title to Muhammad at UFC 304 last July, ‘Rocky’ made it clear he wanted to beat Brady to get back into title contention, however, Brady criticized him for potentially overlooking him.

The Philadelphian could’ve been correct as when the two stepped into the Octagon on Saturday, Edwards didn’t seem to have any answers for Brady’s dominant grappling style.

Although Edwards was originally preparing for a fight against Jack Della Maddalena, the Brit’s last handful of fights have come against grapplers, meaning he should’ve been well prepared for the switch.

Despite that, from the opening round, the 33-year-old was overpressured by Brady and began to crumble almost immediately.

After three dominant rounds, Brady sunk in a guillotine in round four resulting in a tap from Edwards, handing him his first stoppage loss of his UFC career.

Someone who has always been complimentary and supportive of Edwards, despite him having faced criticism throughout his UFC run, is commentator, Joe Rogan.

However, even Rogan was critical of Edwards in round three, when he bizarrely shot for a takedown, resulting in Brady reversing him and controlling the rest of the round on the ground.

“Oh look, Leon shoots (for a takedown), that’s crazy, that doesn’t make sense, horrible idea. I mean, just trying to prove a point I think,” Rogan reacted during his Fight Companion.

“Oh my goodness, oh my goodness,” Rogan repeatedly exclaimed during Brady’s finishing sequence.

“He tapped! Wow! Sean f—— Brady, holy s— what a performance, a shutout against one of the best of all time in the division, beats his a– and submits him.

“F—— unbelievable man, I’m super impressed,” Rogan continued.

Despite being in camp to defend his title against the aforementioned Della Maddalena at UFC 315, ‘Remember The Name’ Muhammad took time out to watch the welterweight fight in London.

Ahead of the fight, Muhammad backed Brady to beat Edwards, potentially letting his hatred for the Brit seep into his prediction.

Following the UFC London main event, Muhammad took the chance to mock Edwards, continuing their feud.

Although Brady is hopeful that he has done enough to secure the next title shot, only time will tell with Shavkat Rakhmonov also waiting in the wings.
