Don’t listen to the haters! Walt Disney Co.’s new live-action update of its animated classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a thoroughly enjoyable family film in a world that badly needs them.

The new Snow White, which hits theaters March 21, has become Disney’s latest they-should-have-seen-this-coming stumble into the culture wars. So much so that the company hosted a truncated version of its red carpet premiere in Los Angeles last weekend, avoiding a phalanx of media asking tough questions of the cast.
