The Cincinnati Bengals have granted defensive end Trey Hendrickson’s request to seek a trade, which was first reported by Adam Schefter and confirmed by Kelsey Conway. Hendrickson requested a trade last offseason and even mulled retirement last offseason before ultimately playing.
Hendrickson is entering the final year of his contract and is seeking a new contract. Hendrickson was a First-Team All-Pro selection last season and led the NFL in sacks.
The 30-year-old FAU product has played four season for the Bengals and played four season for the New Orleans Saints after being drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft.
Hendrickson discussed his contract situation ahead of Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans and said he wanted to help the Bengals win a Super Bowl, regardless of whether he was a member of the team. He is owed $16 million next season and represents an $18.6 million salary cap hit in 2025.
