Cleveland Cavaliers

After splitting a pair against the Celtics earlier this season, the Cavs will clash with Boston once again to reinforce their standing as a championship contender.

Cleveland continues to remain the surprise of the NBA with their 40-9 record, which is half a game better than the Oklahoma City Thunder for the best record in the league. Currently riding a four-game winning streak, they hold a 5.5 game lead over the Celtics for the best record in the Eastern Conference and an 11.5 game lead over the Indiana Pacers in the Central Division.

The Cavs are averaging the second-most points per game at 122.6 and shooting a second-best 50% from the field. They are atop the league in 3-point percentage with 39.6%.

Six Cavs are averaging double figures, including star guard Donovan Mitchell, has garnered 23.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists while shooting 45% from the field.

Point guard Darius Garland is averaging 21.7 points, 6.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds while shooting 50.3% from the field, including 42.8% from beyond the arc.

Power forward Evan Mobley is averaging 18.3 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting 57.3% from the field.

Mitchell, Garland and Mobley all earned All-Star honors, with Mitchell claiming the only starting role.

Center Jarrett Allen is averaging 13.7 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists while shooting 70.6% from the field, which is the second-highest percentage in the NBA.

The duo of Mobley and Allen has caught the attention of the NBA.

Boston Celtics

The Celtics (35-15) have weathered a choppy January and put together a three-game winning streak. They also hold a two-game lead over the New York Knicks in the Atlantic Division.

The Celtics are averaging 117.3 points per game, which is fifth in the NBA. Boston also tallies 889 3-pointers, which is the most in the league.

Six Celtics are also averaging double figures in scoring.

The unit is led by the superstar tandem of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Tatum touts 26.9 points, 8.9 rebounds and 5.7 assists while shooting 45.6% from the field. Brown comes in at 23.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists while shooting 45.9% from the field.

Power forward Kristaps Porzingis, who missed both meetings earlier this season, is averaging 19.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 47.6% from the field.

Point guard Derrick White is averaging 16.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists while shooting 43.9% from the field.

The Celtics are 19-6 in road games this season.
