Several area school districts have canceled classes today due to icy road conditions.
The area is under a winter weather advisory until 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland.
Freezing rain is expected to begin transitioning to light rain this morning.
Roadways are icy and can continue to be slick in spots through mid-morning while surface temperatures remain in the mid-30s.
The temperature is expected to rise into the 40s by this afternoon.
These districts have canceled classes for Thursday:
- Brown Local Schools (Carroll County)
- Carrollton Exempted Village Schools (Carroll County)
- Fairless Local Schools
- Minerva Local School
- Osnaburg Local Schools
- R.G. Drage
- St. Joan of Arc
- Sandy Valley Local Schools
- West Branch Local Schools (Mahoning County)
