Bucks Announce Giannis Antetokounmpo News Before Warriors Game

The Milwaukee Bucks are beginning a five-game stretch of road games with a matchup against the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center on Tuesday night.

Heading into this regular-season NBA contest, the Bucks had several injury uncertainties to worry about.

Bobby Portis Jr. (suspension) and Jericho Sims (right thumb UCL sprain) were both ruled “out.” Giannis Antetokounmpo (right patella tendinopathy), Damian Lillard (right groin soreness) and Gary Trent Jr. (left patella tendinopathy) were each listed as “probable” on Milwaukee’s initial injury report.

Less than an hour before tipoff, Antetokounmpo, Lillard and Trent Jr. were all upgraded to “active.”

Fresh off a triple-double against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday, Antetokoumpo will take the court against the Warriors on Tuesday night.

Antetokounmpo is in the midst of yet another stellar NBA campaign with the Bucks, averaging 30.4 points, 12.1 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. Behind his impressive production, Milwaukee holds the No. 4 spot in the Eastern Conference with a 38-29 record.

While the Bucks have their superstar available for Tuesday night’s game, the Warriors aren’t so fortunate. Golden State point guard Stephen Curry was ruled “out” following Monday night’s loss to the visiting Denver Nuggets.

“He’s tired. Steph’s been carrying us for a month, he’s been amazing,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said. “He’s tired, so we’ve got to get him some rest. You can see it, he just doesn’t have his energy right now.”

Prior to Monday night’s loss to the Nuggets, the Warriors had won seven consecutive games. The Bucks have lost four of their last six games and will look to get back on track against Golden State on Tuesday evening.
