See this like when we were in black tonight we wear blue purple purple and black. I have to take this for myself so it looks pretty good, man. I like it. I like it, yeah. Perfect Perfect, I can take it. Thank you. All right, hello again, everyone. Um, obviously talked *** little bit about Zach this morning, so doesn’t need much intro. all that time all-star, uh, incredible athlete, scorer, uh, defender, you, you know, I think that athleticism jumps off the Off the screen, off the game every time you watch them on both ends. So, uh, we’re obviously super excited to, to welcome Zach here and uh I know you guys got *** bunch of questions for him, so we’ll get going. Zack, Jake from CBS 13. Welcome to Sacramento. Uh, I just want to clarify, you’re be able to play tonight or you’re not sitting out with, uh, you know, with the birth of your son or daughter? No, we, you know, my lovely wife actually just had the bus of our third kid, our daughter, um, and I have *** bunch of family here, so my friends here right now. My wife actually gonna try to make it to the game, so she is incredible. Yeah, no, we’re really excited. I’m not, I’m, I want, I want to play school as soon as possible, um. I remember talking to Monty and and the guys. I was like, if I could try to make it to Minnesota, but stuff didn’t clear that fast, so I’m here now. And just for you, just what was the initial reaction to being traded here to Sacramento? I was really excited, you know, you know, I, I, I wanna thank Chicago. I spent 8 years there, um, the organization grew my family there, you know, grew up as *** man there as well, so. There’s no, no love loss or bad blood there. It’s just, you know, you have to understand business and, um, you know, I’ve got to know that over my tenure in the, in the career of of of the NBA, but super excited. I’m back here on the West Coast. I’m 45 minutes from my house in, uh, in Newport, so you know I know *** couple of guys on the team, obviously Demar couldn’t stay away from me for more than 3 months. So, uh, it was, it’s really fun. I’m, I’m just super excited, especially with these last, uh, after All-Star break this push to try to get, get into places. Hey Zach, Matt George, ABC 10, congratulations to, uh, congratulations to you and your family. You brought up Tamar. Speaking of which, having someone that you’re so familiar with from your time together in Chicago now joining *** new franchise, how much easier does that make that transition having somebody like that that you are so familiar with that you guys can just pick up *** ball and play together? I, I think, I think it helps *** lot, um, obviously being familiar with people and, you know, at the end of the day it is just basketball, you know, coming here and us doing our job, but. Having guys that you play with or being familiar with always helps, and me and him have had *** really good relationship. He’s from Chicago even before that, so it’s *** seamless transition. Hi Zach. Christy Rodriguez MBC Sports California. Welcome to Sacramento. Um, I don’t know if you know about your hat yesterday, the Raider hat raised *** lot of controversy. Are you *** Raiders fan? I’m *** Raiders. I know there’s some, some San Francisco Giants fans and, and some, uh, 49ers fans, but I’ve been *** Raider fan since my, my dad played with the Seahawks back in the day. Um, family’s from San Bernardino, California, so I’ve been riding with the Raiders through, through good and bad, so you guys might see some, uh, some Raider hats around here from me. And then just two basketball questions. um, first, I guess since everyone’s being asked this, what was your reaction to the Luca trade Luca being *** Laker now. I mean, everybody, I think when it went across our timeline we just didn’t really, I thought it was like fake news, but um it really, it really is that was *** big domino to fall that no one thought it would but that’s the, that’s the NBA that we live in, um, and that’s the, the business of basketball that I’ve learned to know and. You know, I think I just started *** little bit of *** floodgates going on this this trade deadline coming up on February 6th, so, you know, it’s gonna be exciting to watch. Just along those lines, obviously *** little bit of *** shake up in the west it’s been. Um, *** couple of years since you’ve been here, but how just excited are you to compete in the West with the best of the best here? Yeah, I mean, I, I started my career up here in the west. Um, it’s not that I’m not familiar with it. Obviously you play all the teams in the East, but being out here is *** little different, you know, you have to be ready to compete and play each and every night, um, and I’m excited for it, especially at this stage of my career. Hi Zach, Michelle Dapper KCRA, congrats to your family and welcome to Sacramento. I’m curious as an NBA veteran, what was your perception of this organization and the Sacramento Kings as *** whole, especially the front office? I mean, you guys should know I, I, I signed here about 6 years ago, so you know I’ve been, I’ve been *** fan for *** long time. I thought I was gonna be *** king, you know, *** little bit ago obviously Chicago matched my office, but um. It’s, it’s, I’ve had ***, I’ve had *** good relationship with *** lot of guys that’s played here. Um, I understand the culture here being from the West Coast and, and watching *** lot of games and knowing how incredible the fans are each and every game, not just when you play goal instead of the Lakers, but you know, Tuesday night it’s still gonna be, you know, packed in here and people, you know, pull for their team, um, so I’m really excited to go out here, especially, you know, the first, the first game and, and start building the chemistry, um, not just with the fans, but with the, uh, with the players as well. Zach, there, there have been rumors of you coming here *** couple of times before to play with De’Aaron Fox. How do you think, uh, filling, filling those shoes, how are you different? What are, what do you bring that’s different than DAn and, and what should fans expect from you? I mean, me and Dearn are, you know, we’re closely in the same agency as well. Um, we got to talk on the phone and, and, and obviously understand *** little bit about how the business works and that’s all fine, but. I think fans understand I, I, I play extremely hard, um, you know, obviously I, I can put the ball up and I put the ball in the basket, but you know, the more I’ve gone into my career of, of trying to be more of *** leader, uh, experienced guys, um, and even with some older dudes on the team like Jay and Jamar, you know, just help leading as well, just do, just do expectations and experiences as well, so. Um, you know, I’m, I’m really excited and, you know, to go out here and show everybody what I do, um, and continue to, uh, keep growing my game and hopefully go to teams. Is that Sean Kenny on Fox 40. I, I just, I’m curious for you when you, you know, you. It seems like this maybe for us we’ve expected to trade with you for such *** long time, not even necessarily the Sacramento, but just in general. How much is that kind of weight on your shoulders *** little bit? How have you kind of process that and kind of readyed yourself for this moment to take *** next step, I think. I think it comes with the territory, especially guys in my position where you know you might be in trade rumors or you might, you know, you’re you’re the face of *** franchise that, you know, for *** decent amount of time and you don’t go through trials and tribulations, uh, and I feel like I’ve, I’ve gone through *** lot of ups and downs, um, highs, lows. I think that just made me *** better person, um, character wise, experience, understanding, you know, basketball as *** whole, um, so it. I dealt with it fine and you know I was more more than enough. I was, I was excited for the opportunity you know not *** lot of people get opportunities like this to go here and start somewhere start somewhere fresh where you wanted, um, and, and, and, and, and liked so you know I’m, I’m, I’m excited for that for that challenging opportunity. Hey Zach, uh, Brendon Nunezo Sports, you and Doug both being Washington guys, just how far back does your history go and, and how do you feel about getting *** chance to play for him here? Doug Doug is great. I, I remember growing up watching Doug, uh, he’s one of the first guys to make it out of Seattle. Uh, he’s like *** pioneer from that, from that area and, um, growing up West Coast watching him with Sacramento obviously battling against the Lakers and stuff in the in the conference finals, um. You know, the tenacious and, and the mentality that he brings. I know where he’s from and what he’s about, so we’ve had numerous conversations and then even, you know, when I was even playing here when he was doing TV radio or assistant coach, I always come up, say what’s up, give him *** hug. So it’s, it’s really cool having him be be in that lead seat um to to help him out as well. Hey Zach, Deuce Mason NBC Sports California. Um, last year overcome the adversity surgery you’re away from the game. Uh, how much did you benefit from just kind of reflecting and in that time off? Like what did you learn about yourself during that stretch? I mean, whenever you miss *** period of time from something you love, it’s taken away from you, you have to appreciate it more. Um, I think when I got hurt, obviously dealing with that in Chicago and we were going through those ups and downs obviously there’s trade rumors. You know, you just take *** step back and then you start reflecting like what can I do better, you know, how can I come back and improve not just myself but the team overall and you know I think that’s that’s pretty much what it was and then just getting back to joy of loving and playing again because you know I played 25 games without *** out of, you know, *** broken foot. It, it sucks but you can’t do anything about injuries it’s part of sports. So you know when you get that time back, you know how are you doing, how are you gonna manage it? Zack, how excited are you to light the be? Yeah, everybody’s talking about lighting the beam, man. So hopefully we get this thing done sooner than later, um, you know, hopefully try to light the thing up tonight. Mark Haines, Sacramento Observer. Um, coming into this situation, Kings are *** team that wants to be ***, *** winning now team, and they’re kind of even it’s like *** fresh start for them right now with, with you being on the team. Uh, do you feel any pressure to come in and make an immediate impact in *** positive way? I don’t think it’s pressure, but I think that’s what is expected of you. Um, somebody in my position, you come here and you try to, you know, improve the team, um, you know, that’s what, that’s what I think what these guys brought me here for and, and, and for me personally. Yeah, I’ve been to one playoff series. I’ve spent 8 years in Chicago. I’ve, I’ve won *** lot of individual accolades, but you know, as *** team setting, I’m, I’m looking forward to going out here and trying to help these guys and them helping me as well get to that next step. So I’m, I’m more than excited for the challenge. I don’t think it’s more pressure. Zach Brady, but he does CBS Sacramento. Welcome to Zach. Uh, you, we saw you at shootaround today, just early impressions on, on the roster that this team has and, and perhaps the ceiling that you guys can reach together. What are your thoughts? It’s *** fun group. I mean, we just, how you guys 2 weeks ago, yeah, just 2 weeks ago, um. Fun group of guys can really shoot the ball up and down, you know, you don’t wanna, when I was in Chicago, we were so worried about them taking the ball out and shooting within, you know, the 1st 4 or 5 seconds. So, um, you know, with me coming in, I think that just adds to the offense and you know, obviously with the experience as well. I’m excited. You never know what the ceiling can be, um, you know, we’re gonna have to work through some stuff just like any team will have to, but we’ll try to get it down as fast as possible. But my first initial reaction with *** group, *** great group of guys. Doug seems like the, the spirits are super high and that’s something that, uh, you know, even coming from Chicago, it seemed like *** really fun and and ready group, uh, so it made me really excited. Hey Zach, Tyler Techa here with iHeartRadio. How excited are you to play next to such *** great all-round player like DeMonus Sabonis? And are you in favor for bringing back the young Hollywood nickname from your college days since you’re back in California? I haven’t heard that name since I was like 18, man. um, Hollywood, that’s UCLA um. The Demons has been incredible since I’ve been in the NBA, um, probably one of the best floor connectors you could have and Loki probably the strongest guy in the NBA, uh, that we never like to box out, so I’m glad he’s on our team, and, uh, I’m, I’m really excited with different cuts and plays that you can run with him, you know, we’ll get our chemistry down soon on the nickname. I don’t, I don’t know, man. I’ll let you guys figure that out. Zach, uh, you just mentioned too about playing in New York. Like the which we hope you do that, you know, here soon, but um, what’s your, uh, message to the fans here because you know how energetic and how they get here and this whole town is just so passionate about this this franchise. Yeah, no, I mean I’m *** passionate player basket. So I put, I put *** lot of hard work into my game and I, and I don’t take this for granted. So every time I step on the floor, you know, I’m not taking it for granted the time that they come to watch the game, um, spending their hard earned money to come here and watching and, and cheer on the team. So you know I’m gonna be right there with me and do everything I can for the city. Is that kind of building off that over your career you’ve had *** lot of success in this building on the opposite side now calling this building home one, how excited are you to play and, and call this building home and, and two, what is it about this gym that so many shooters seem to just enjoy? I mean, I’ve always just loved playing, you know, close to back home. I, I have friends and family that are close by, so I always came to the game and, you know, now calling it home it’s gonna be really fun for me to have, you know, games like that every day where I get to see my wife, my kids, mom, dad, friends, um. And I don’t know, man, it’s just, it’s *** shooter’s gym, so you know hopefully it stays like that for me. I’ve always, I’ve always liked shooting here. that, just you mentioned, so they talked *** little bit about the lack of postseason experience, um, that you, that you have. How much does that kind of, I don’t know, eat at you individually? I mean, people can say what they say, but just you as ***, as *** hooper, just how much does that kind of bother you or just nag at you? I mean, it, everybody has to play the cards that they’re dealt, you know, the situation that you were in, the team that you play for, you know, I, I, I always put my my best foot forward, uh, and try to do everything I can to help the team win now. Are you always gonna be able to? No, but you know for me in, in my 11th year now, you know, being in *** playoff series, you wanna try to compete and and challenge yourself to get there. I think that’s the more, the more the reason of it’s, it’s competitiveness. I think that’s more than just, you know. Wanting to, you know, you want to go out there and compete for championship. You wanna go out there and compete and be in big time games, um, and be in *** position to do that. I think that’s just the competitiveness that that each player has. Is is that Chris Biederman with the Sacramento Bee just, um, being in your spot, being linked to so many different teams and and different rumors. I’m, I’m just wondering what what was that like for you the last few weeks mentally knowing that so many things are up in the air and there’s so many different possibilities. I think earlier in my career I got traded early on in my career, um, and it hit me to that side of the game, but you know, now you just control what you can, um, and let the chips fall where they may, where they may be. I was, I was taking my son on *** walk when I got the call from Rich, uh. And I was extremely excited and obviously like I said I appreciate everything and my time in Chicago, but you know now that I’m here, it’s time to take, you know, my career to the next step and and and and continue that along so I love talking around with with V, with Doug, Monty, um, and like I said, it’s always great to be *** place where you’re wanted, um, and not everybody has the opportunity to have that so you know I’m very thankful. Thank you guys.
