Latest. United’s Carabao Cup final opponents confirmed

Newcastle United will face Liverpool in the final of the Carabao Cup at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, March 16th.

Liverpool overturned a one-goal deficit from the first leg of their semi-final by beating Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 at Anfield on Thursday evening to book their place at the national stadium.

The Magpies had done so the previous evening, with a 2-0 win over Arsenal at St. James’ Park giving them a 4-0 aggregate victory over the Gunners.

Liverpool are the current holders of the trophy, beating Chelsea 1-0 after extra time last year. For United, it’s a second final appearance in three years. Ticket details will be confirmed very shortly.

Newcastle United’s Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace will be rescheduled.
