If you’re looking for a feel-good show, now is the perfect time to watch Sweet Magnolias on Netflix. With a brand-new season premiering this Thursday, here’s everything you need to know about the next installment, including its release time.
Sweet Magnolias is a Netflix series inspired by Sherryl Woods’ book series of the same name. It follows lifelong best friends Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott), and Helen (Heather Headley) as they navigate love, family, and careers in their small Southern hometown.
The third season ended with Dana Sue renewing her vows with her estranged husband Ronnie (Brandon Quinn) in a heartfelt ceremony surrounded by their loved ones. As for Helen, she’s ready to rekindle her relationship with Erik (Dion Johnstone), while Maddie is in a really good place with Cal (Justin Bruening) and is preparing for a new step in her career.

The next chapter will follow the women as they celebrate the holiday season from Halloween to Christmas, weaved in with laughter and heartbreak.
“While negotiating the twists and turns of their romantic lives, Maddie, Dana Sue, and Helen must also navigate the return of old foes, the loss of great loves, and the painful transition from old dreams to new ones. As the men in their lives pursue their own goals and their teenagers take uneasy steps toward adulthood, the Magnolias support each other with creative problem-solving, deep-hearted commitment, and — as always — weekly margaritas,” Tudum’s synopsis reads.
