On Thursday, Jan. 30, music’s A-list came together to fundraise for rebuilding communities and disaster prevention following devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
Two FireAid Benefit Concerts — each with star-studded lineups — took place in the Kia Forum and the brand-new Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. The list of performers included Gen-Z superstars Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, Olivia Rodrigo, Gracie Abrams and Tate McRae, as well as longtime legends like Stevie Nicks, Lady Gaga, Sting and many more.
Kia Forum also saw a rare performance from folk music pioneer Joni Mitchell, as well as moving moments from Jelly Roll, John Mayer and Pink among others.

After losing his home in the Palisades Fire, Billy Crystal opened up about his experience to the audience at FireAid.
“You’ll be hearing from a number of people who were tragically affected by these fires, and I was one of them,” he shared. “These were the clothes I wore when I fled my house with my wife Janice, like so many of us did, on Jan. 7. This was all I had.”

Lady Gaga wowed the crowd with a new original song co-written by her fiancé Michael Polansky.
“I thought I wanted to do something hopeful for you, and I was thinking about my songs and there wasn’t anything that felt quite right,” she told the crowd. “So me and my friend Michael, my fiancé, my love, we wrote this song for you. It’s just for tonight. It’s just for you. I think we may all need a lot of things right now. But I think something we may also need is time. Time is a healer.”

Legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell moved the audience by singing her track “Both Sides Now,” from a golden throne on the stage.

Former California senator and Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff were spotted in the crowd.
“Kamala and I are grateful to be at the FireAid concert tonight in our hometown of Los Angeles,” Emhoff wrote on Instagram. “It is a wonderful night that shows the strength and resilience of our city as we begin to recover and rebuild from the devastating wildfires.”

The legendary band Earth, Wind & Fire inspired the cheering crowd by performing a medley of their 1975 hits “That’s the Way of the World,” “Shining Star” and 1978’s “September.”

Performing her hit songs “Driver’s Licence” and “Deja Vu,” Olivia Rodrigo also took a minute to acknowledge how much Los Angeles means to her.
“It is so heartbreaking to see all this devastation in this incredible city,” Rodrigo said. “I find this place so beautiful and inspiring and I’ve written many songs about living here in my life.”

Stevie Wonder shared an inspirational message, telling the crowd, “In this world today we have no time for blaming and shaming. We need to have prayer and come together as the united people of the world. I thank God for giving me the gift of song for you.”
He performed the song “Love’s in Need of Love Today” and “Superstition,” before ending on “Higher Ground.”
