Saif Ali Khan has 6 stab wounds, 1 deep cut close to spine, says Lilavati Hospital

Actor Saif Ali Khan, who was attacked by an intruder at his Bandra residence early on Thursday, sustained six stab wounds, including two deep cuts on his back — one dangerously close to his spine — and a minor injury on his neck.

Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital where he is currently undergoing surgery. Hospital authorities have reported that the 54-year-old actor’s condition is stable and a full assessment of his injuries will follow once all surgical procedures are completed.

“Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an unidentified person at his home. He was brought in at 3 am by his son, Taimur Ali Khan, along with their caretaker. He sustained six injuries caused by sharp objects like a knife, two of which are deep, with one close to the spine. A small foreign object near the spine was identified. He is currently undergoing surgery performed by a multidisciplinary team of specialists,” Dr Niraj Uttamani, Chief Operating Officer of Lilavati Hospital, said.

A surgical team led by Dr Nitin Dange, Consultant Neurosurgeon, successfully removed the foreign object near Khan’s spine during neurosurgery. Dr Leena Jain, Consultant Plastic Surgeon, is now addressing the remaining wounds through plastic surgery, while a team of anaesthesiologists, intensivists, and radiologists ensures comprehensive care.
