Robert Lewandowski says the Christmas break was a good time for Barcelona to think about what had gone wrong before returning to action in January.
The Catalans saw their form dip at the end of the year but they have started 2025 in style with wins over Athletic Club and Real Madrid to win the Super Cup.
Lewandowski says Barca now want more trophies and have to keep playing at the same level.
“If I think about the games we played, we played well until December. And there were times when we didn’t play well in the league,” he told Movistar Plus.
“I think Christmas was good to think about what went wrong and what we could do better.
“We know there are still a lot of games left until the end of the season and in the second half we showed that we can play with experience and ten players.
“Playing against Real Madrid is a very big game, especially if it’s a final. But I think we had to play the same way as in the league.
“We always want more. In three days we have the next game. And this season is a big challenge for everyone and we have to prepare for the next game. Today we can enjoy it but tomorrow we have to think about Betis.”
Lewandowski was on target against Madrid on Sunday. That’s now 26 goals for the season in all competitions for Barcelona in 2024-25.
