The mammoth bushfires in Los Angeles have now claimed at least 10 lives with fears high winds on Friday, local time, could worsen the blazes.
Around 180,000 people have been forced to leave their homes.
There are concerns that the truth death toll could be higher with entire communities destroyed.
Five fires are still ablaze including the Pacific Palisades blaze near Malibu which is burning through 20,000 acres and has destroyed 5300 buildings and structures.
The Eaton fire near Altadena and Pasadena spans nearly 14,000 acres.
Adding to the stress, city residents have been sent evacuation orders by mistake.
On Thursday afternoon, 10 million people, more than half Greater LA’s population, were sent text messages in error telling them to leave areas that were in some case far from the fires. On Friday, residents of the wealthy Beverly Hills are were also told to evacuate, again in error.
Nonetheless, some areas remain under threat including the Kardashian family enclave which is close to the Kenneth fire which only a third of which is under control.
That comes as scores of other celebrities have had their homes destroyed.
