A Safer Place is a place to go during severe weather that is safer than the outdoors, a mobile home, or similar. They are open for the duration of a weather event.
- Unless indicated, pets are not allowed except for service animals.
- Bring any food, blankets, toiletries, medications, etc. that may be needed during the immediate threat and duration of the weather event.
- Safer Places meet structural requirements, but these facilities are generously provided by organizations to assist their neighbors. They may not be certified tornado shelters, and absolute safety is not guaranteed.

—Fairhope Methodist Church at 155 S. Section Street in Fairhope, opens at 2:00p.m. Saturday and closes 11:00 pm. Saturday night.
The post says people should bring bedding, toiletries, medications, and food and water.
It says cots and blankets will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and no drugs or alcohol permitted: violators will be asked to leave.
