TAYLORSVILLE, Miss. (WDAM) – After suffering heavy damage from a super storm cell Saturday, the Town of Taylorsville will be under a curfew extending into Sunday morning.
The curfew will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday and run through 7 a.m. Sunday, Taylorsville Police Department Chief Gabe Horn said.

Horn said that “45 to 50 homes and 10 businesses” suffered damage from the storm.
Smith County Sheriff Joel Houston said that the southeastern section of town had sustained heavy damage to structures. Power lines and tress also were down across roads.
Taylorsville High School was reported to have been hit, while Taylorsville baseball coach Laine Jordan sent in a picture showing major damage to the high school baseball diamond.
According to PowerOutage.us, some 1,960 customers across Smith County – including Taylorsville – were without power as of 6 p.m. Saturday.
This report will be updated once more information is made available.
