THE LIBRARY. NOW YOUR WLKY WEATHER WITH CHIEF METEOROLOGIST JAY CARDOSI. ALL RIGHT. ABSOLUTE GORGEOUS WEATHER OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW. LIVE TOWER CAM DOWNTOWN LOOKING UP THE OHIO. ISN’T THAT A COOL SHOT RIGHT THERE. THE VARIOUS BRIDGES SPANNING THE OHIO A LITTLE BIT OF BARGE TRAFFIC OUT THERE. WE HAVE PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND IT’S BREEZY. IT’S WARM. IT IS VERY, VERY COMFORTABLE. AND EVEN 80 DEGREES. THE HUMIDITY 36% OF SOUTH WIND IN HERE OVER 20MPH. WE HAVE UPPER 70S TO NEAR 80 ALL ACROSS THE VIEWING AREA RIGHT NOW. AND THE RADAR SCAN IS CLEAR. ALL DIRECTIONS. IF YOU HAVE OUTDOOR PLANS THIS EVENING THROUGH THE EARLY OVERNIGHT, WHAT I MEAN BY THAT 1 TO 2 A.M. I THINK YOU’RE IN GREAT, GREAT SHAPE. AFTER 2 OR 3:00 EARLY, EARLY TOMORROW MORNING, WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL START TO GO DOWNHILL. THIS EVENING, THOUGH. PLENTY WARM, A FEW PASSING CLOUDS. IT WILL BE BREEZY, NO QUESTION ABOUT IT. TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 70S AT SEVEN 8:00 TONIGHT WILL TRANSITION INTO THE LOW 70S A LITTLE BIT LATER ON, THEN ALL EYES ON THIS BIG STORM SYSTEM OUT HERE IN THE PLAINS. THIS THING SPINNING AROUND ON THE LEADING EDGE. BOY, THE SEVERE WEATHER IS GOING GANGBUSTERS RIGHT NOW. SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCHES IN YELLOW FLASHING OR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS. AND THEN WE HAVE THE TORNADO WATCHES. AND THAT PALE SHADE OF RED. AND AS WE MOVE THROUGH THE EVENING, THAT’S WHERE THE MOST DANGEROUS WEATHER WILL BE LOCATED. OFF TO OUR WEST. EVERYTHING BEING KICKED OFF BY THAT MASSIVE UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM. SO LET’S GO THROUGH TONIGHT INTO EARLY TOMORROW. HERE’S LOUISVILLE, INDIANA, KENTUCKY. IT’S BEAUTIFUL. 7 P.M. IT’S GOING TO STAY THAT WAY ALL EVENING LONG. BUT NOTICE THOSE BIG STORMS OFF TO THE WEST? THEY WILL BE SEVERE DAMAGING WINDS. POSSIBILITY OF SOME STRONG TORNADOES AS WELL. OUT HERE IN MISSOURI, INCLUDING SAINT LOUIS, INTO SECTIONS OF ILLINOIS. THEY’LL CONTINUE TO SWEEP EASTERLY AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT, GETTING CLOSE TO THE WABASH AROUND 2 OR 3 A.M. OR SO, AND THEN VERY LATE TONIGHT, MAYBE OUTRUNNING THEIR SUPPORT JUST A LITTLE BIT ON TOP OF THAT, INSTABILITY MIGHT BE WANING SOME. SO THE BOTTOM LINE, WHAT WAS ONCE A VERY POWERFUL LINE OFF TO THE WEST, THESE STORMS MAY TEND TO WEAKEN AS THEY APPROACH THE I 65 CORRIDOR. DON’T PUT DOWN YOUR GUARD. STILL A CHANCE A FEW COULD BE STRONG TO SEVERE, BUT AGAIN, NOT TO THE EXTENT OF WHAT THEY’RE EXPECTING. OFF TO THE WEST. OUT HERE IN ILLINOIS, MISSOURI, FAR WESTERN TENNESSEE, FAR WESTERN KENTUCKY, THAT’S WHERE THERE’S GOING TO BE THE THE DAMAGING WIND GUSTS. AND AGAIN, THE POSSIBILITY OF STRONG TORNADOES AS THAT SYSTEM MOVES EAST, APPROACHES I-65. AS I TALKED ABOUT, I THINK THEY’LL TEND TO WEAKEN. A FEW COULD STILL BE STRONG TO SEVERE, MAINLY WEST OF I 65. HEY, BOTTOM LINE, WE’RE GOING TO BE HERE ALL NIGHT TONIGHT INTO TOMORROW. KEEPING YOU UP TO DATE. SPEAKING OF TOMORROW, A LITTLE LULL IN THE ACTION. LATE MORNING, EARLY AFTERNOON, AND THEN MORE STORMS FIRE UP LATER IN THE DAY. THOSE WILL CONTINUE INTO TOMORROW NIGHT. A LOT OF WIND ENERGY OUT THERE. SO AGAIN, A FEW OF THEM COULD BE STRONG TO SEVERE ACROSS THE VIEWING AREA. WE HAVE A SLIGHT RISK TOMORROW ON A SCALE OF 1 TO 5 IT’S A TWO. BUT AS YOU GO SOUTH THAT BECOMES A HIGH RISK. DOWN IN SECTIONS OF MISSISSIPPI, ALABAMA, INCLUDING BIRMINGHAM, WHERE THERE COULD BE DAMAGING TORNADOES TOMORROW, LATE AFTERNOON. SO HERE’S YOUR FORECAST IN DETAIL FOR OUR AREA. PARTLY CLOUDY, BREEZY, BEAUTIFUL THIS EVENING, 60S AND 70S OUT THERE. DETAILED 12 HOUR FORECAST FOR TOMORROW. CHANCE FOR THOSE SHOWERS AND STORMS EARLY. LITTLE BREAK AND THEN MORE LATER IN THE DAY. WE’LL WATCH FOR A FEW OF THEM. BECOMING STRONG TO SEVERE WILL BE HERE. OTHERWISE EVERYTHING QUIETS DOWN AS WE MOVE INTO SUNDAY. WE COOL IT OFF. 55 TURNS BEAUTIFUL AGAIN FOR SAINT PATRICK’S DAY, TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY OF NEXT WEEK, BEFORE A LITTLE BITE OF COLDER AIR MOVES IN FOR ONE DAY NEXT THURSDAY. SO QUIET NOW WILL STAY THAT WAY ALL EVENING. BUT VERY LATE TONIGHT AND TOMORROW. HEY, WE GO
