Downdetector.com, a website where users can report outages, showed tens of thousands of reports of outages spiking after 9:30 a.m. ET.

What we know:
According to downdetector.com, more than 40,000 instances of X being down were reported as of 9:42 a.m. ET Monday.
By 10:30 a.m. ET, that number had dropped to just over 1,000 reports.
What we don’t know:
The outage has not been confirmed by the social media site.
It’s also unclear how many users are affected across the platforms, or what may have led to the disruption.
