The Boston Celtics earned a 128-118 win over the Portland Trail Blazers with help from historic performances from Payton Pritchard and Derrick White.
Pritchard dropped 43 points on 10 3-pointers, and White added 41 points on nine 3s to become the first duo in NBA history to both make nine or more 3s in the same game. They also became the first Celtics teammates with 40 or more points in the same game.
Pritchard’s 10 3-pointers are a career-high and came one shy of Marcus Smart’s franchise record. White’s 41 points are a career-high. They stepped up for the Celtics with Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jrue Holiday sidelined.
Boston will return to action Thursday for the second night of a back-to-back at TD Garden vs. the Philadelphia 76ers.
